Michael was born in Glenhuntly, Victoria, Australia in 1948. He has been painting and drawing for most of his life and his natural creative flair is also an important part of his work as a Decorator and Window Dresser.
It was not until the 80's, however, that Michael began to paint seriously. With the encouragement of Wesley Penberthy (the only student of Norman Lindsay), Michael began to develop his ideas as a painter.
Michael's work comes from his imagination. Ideas developed from his own reflections on life, feelings about something or somebody, or perhaps from memories bought together from favourite childhood books. He also writes, whether it might be a collection of thoughts, or his poetry, it is often from the creativity of these words and his skill as a painter, the themes and topics for his paintings develop. Michael will experiment with colour and texture and works in a variety of media, watercolour, ink, acrylics and pastel.
Michael has had several solo and joint exhibitions in Melbourne, Australia and the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia.
