Elisabeth Kreutler was born, and resides, in Vienna, Austria. She reuses an Old Chinese marbling technique. Such a technique developed in China during the Imperial Court more than 500 years ago. It was used to produce documents and treaties, since this technique is impossible to forge.
Elisabeth uses Chinese oil colours painted on cotton linen.
Academic artist Prof. Peter Kolin was Elisabeth's intensive instructor in oil painting. Her intentions were to develop a personal style of artistic realization derived from the realistic painting combined with the extraordinary technique of marbling.
